Most AI vendors were founded the year before last. Most engineers with twenty-five years of operations behind them have not got to agents yet. Here, the operations and the agents are the same person.
Twenty-five years of things that were expensive when they broke
Ľubomír Harmanovský has spent his career on systems where failure had a cost. OpenVMS clusters at a NASDAQ-listed semiconductor manufacturer, including migrating a mission-critical cluster from Alpha to Itanium across sites in the US, Slovakia and Malaysia — a migration most engineers now working have never seen, let alone run. Linux and the content delivery network behind Slovakia's second-largest news site, around a hundred virtual servers, for eight years. Before that, roughly a hundred and sixty servers serving tens of thousands of customers at a Slovak hosting company.
Today: three years in biometrics and security technology — leading software delivery for Innovatrics. And alongside it, an infrastructure of our own — a server at our premises, offsite backup in another town, a VPS in the cloud, Docker, a self-hosted GitLab, Authentik in front of every internal service, Prometheus over all of it — where AI agents genuinely operate things and the on-call rota is a cron schedule.
That is the pairing on offer: twenty-five years of running systems where failure had a cost, plus agents that run here today. Most suppliers have one or the other.
The other half of the name
Digital Symbio has been around since 2017, and the second word in the name is deliberate. Symbiosis means both sides gain — the technology and the people who have to live with it. That is why there is a tree in the logo. Building the system is the easier half of this work. The harder half starts when it lands with people who never asked for it.
Ľubomír founded the NGO Sieť Dobra in 2012 and is in Community Building facilitator training, finishing at the end of 2026. And it sits closer to this work than it looks: AI enablement is mostly facilitation. Walking into a room of people who quietly believe a machine is coming for their job, and leaving with them curious rather than defensive, is a skill from an entirely different trade than running clusters. It is the unfair advantage.
Who turns up, and what not to expect
Ľubomír does the technical work and he does it alone — if you hire Digital Symbio, he is who turns up. So we will not staff your project, join your on-call rota, or answer the phone at 4 a.m. We are not going to tell you AI will transform your business, because mostly it will not — it will do a few specific things very well and quietly cost you money everywhere else. Working out which ones those are is the actual job, and it is most of what you would be paying for.
